11/27/17 Students will be making their own pH indicator juice to tell which substances are acids and bases.
10/16/17 Chemistry Unit begins!
1/11/16 Today is an exciting day for the 8th grade students, they will start their first dissection in the lab. The students will be working with a partner to dissect cow eyeballs. 12/10/15 The eighth graders are in the middle of their "Heat, Sound & Light" Unit. The students are currently working on learning the parts of the ear. While learning all the parts and functions, the 8th graders learned the smallest bone in the human body is actually located in the ear! Once the students finish this section we move onto "the eye", which they will actually get to see first hand with their cow dye dissection!!
10/6/15 We are almost finished up with our "Basic Skills" Unit and wrapping it up. 8th graders are having their first "lab practical" where they will walk from station to station and identify parts of the microscope. After this we will review this unit, and take an overall test, before starting "Chemistry".
Students are working on Observations and Inferences and working their way up to the Scientific Method and learning the Metric System. During this unit, students will be using a lot of tools to determine measurements, while focusing on labeling their measurements with the correct unit (grams, liters, meters...)
